She started her career in nursing at the University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital as a staff RN. She then moved the following year to Southern Indiana and started working at Norton Children's Hospital in downtown Louisville as a Critical Care Float RN for the next 5 years. She switched to the NICU after her first child was born and worked as a bedside RN for 3 years. After she had her second child (and heard a rumor NCH NICU may be adding a third Lactation Consultant) she decided to pursue her IBCLC. She has now been working as a Lactation Consultant at NCH for the past 3 years. She currently lives in Jeffersonville, Indiana, with Chris, her husband of 9 years. They have 3 children, Penelope (Penny), age 7 in 2nd grade, Desmond, age 5 in Jr. Kindergarten and Evelyn, age 2 in 2-year old Pre-K. She breastfed all her children for well over a year, with her son breastfeeding the longest -- until 18 months. She enjoys spending time with her family and, on the very rare occasion, taking a girls' trip to Graceland in Memphis, TN (She loves Elvis)!
